Hope Food Mobile of Pennsauken
Are you in need of some help with food? Do you know of someone that needs help with food? Hope Mobile Food Bank of South Jersey and the Outreach Ministry of Second Baptist Church is here to help you to put food on your ta- ble. Everyone you know is going through some kind of problem and God has looked down on Second Baptist and looked to us to help people in their time of need. What do we do? We open our doors to be a drop off for food to the community. A tractor-trailer comes to the church around 10:00 am every second Saturday of the month and drops off food for people who signed up ahead of time and also on that day. You can receive your food starting around 11:00 am through 1:00 pm. Anyone who wants food for that day can wait in line for their time to collect their food. We have served over 200 people in a day. Initially, we started with 99 people in March and now are up to 217 people in July. As you can see, the numbers have grown because people are in need of help. It does not make a difference your race, creed or color. We are all God’s children and He said to “Feed my Sheep”. I am the director but do not do a this job by myself. So with the help of the members of the Outreach Ministry and the many volunteers who come out and ask “what would you like for me to do”, the food bank has been a success. “All things are possible with God”.
With our pastor’s help, we have received some grant money. This money has been used to purchase ideas such as tents, dollies and carts. We thank God for sending Sister Bert Dowe to Reverend Dorn. In turn Reverend Dorn reached out to the Outreach Ministries and now we can be a blessing to others and also a witness to some folks in need and letting God’s light shine through us.
